You might have noticed some changes around here!

We have new look packaging and a brand new website as part of our mission to bring better bread to every table.

You may also have noticed that the recipe for our delicious loaves has changed slightly and we’ll admit it, we should have told you before we changed it (not everyone likes surprises).

The thing is, our team of expert bakers are constantly striving to make better bread, bread that’s not only better for you, but better for the farmer, the miller and the soil too.

We believe diversity and taste go together and that’s why our sliced loaves now contain higher quality flours and ancient grains such as Barley, Spelt and Emmer, which means our sourdough is now more balanced, with better depth of flavour and increased freshness.

Using this diverse blend of the best flours also means we can increase the nutritional potential of our loaves, increasing the levels of fibre in our breads which is good for you and your family.

Long ago, white bread was not what we know today – it was deeper in colour, richer in taste and higher in nutrition. At Bertinet Bakery, we believe this is white bread as it should be and that’s why our white sourdough is now slightly darker in colour, with a more balanced, true sourdough flavour.

Don’t worry though, our loaves are still made properly with only the best flours, sea salt and water and still never with any artificial preservatives or added sugars.
